Walking in a Sandy Beachy Land

Inspired by my last post, I have re-written one of my favorite Christmas carols to fit with my current location and season.

The Original Winter Wonderland Version (by Felix Bernard ):

"Sleigh bells ring, are you listening, In the lane, snow is glistening A beautiful sight, We're happy tonight. Walking in a winter wonderland.

Gone away is the bluebird, Here to stay is a new bird He sings a love song, As we go along, Walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snowman, Then pretend that he is Parson Brown

He'll say: Are you married? We'll say: No man, But you can do the job When you're in town.

Later on, we'll conspire, As we dream by the fire To face unafraid, The plans that we've made,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snowman, And pretend that he's a circus clown We'll have lots of fun with mister snowman, Until the other kids knock him down.

When it snows, ain't it thrilling, Though your nose gets a chilling We'll frolic and play, the Eskimo way, Walking in a winter wonderland."

My New and Improved Version to fit a Sydney Wonderland (using the same tune as Felix Bernard):

"Ferry honks, are you listening? On the bridge, lights are glistening. It's a beautiful sight, were happy tonight, walking in a sandy beachy land.

Gone away are the normal birds, here to stay are the cheeky birds. They make crazy sounds, as we go along. Walking in a sandy beachy land.

On the beach we can build a sand mermaid, and pretend that she is Ariel. We'll say do you want to be a human, and she will try to give us her voice box.

Later on we'll perspire, as we tan and feel like fire. Our faces will burn, for aloe they'll yearn. Walking in a sandy beachy land.

On the beach we can build a sandcastle, and pretend it is being attacked by tsunamis. We'll say can you take, it'll say no man, and it will wash away in the water.

Sand in toes, ain't it thrilling, soft white sand, what a feeling. We'll frolic and play, the surfer dude way. Walking in a sandy beachy land."
